Learn more about Jennifer.
Jennifer grew in the Essex County area and has four children and seven grandchildren. Her son Jacob is a young adult with autism and she has a particular understanding of the growing needs of families who care for children with special needs. Mediation is a planning process, where parents can be helped to find the best ways to co-parent moving forward. That is even more important where a child with a particular challenge needs their help more than ever.
Jennifer was the recipient of the Association for Family Courts President's Award in 2016 for her work in trying to change the culture for separating families by increasing the use of mediation. She served as the President of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation from 2013 to 2018. As President she co-founded the successful Family Peacemakers Annual Conference for family mediators and collaborative professionals and continues to work on that conference each year.
When she is not mediating directly, Jennifer trains family mediators throughout Canada through INSIGHTful Mediation Training.
Community Minded.
Jennifer has worked to serve others in her community, serving for several years as the President of the Autism Society (Windsor Chapter), continuing to sit as a founding Board Member of Windsor Life Centre, an addiction treatment centre for women, teaching and coaching at University of Windsor Law School and co-creating the Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition now run through AFCC Ontario Chapter. She sat as the President of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation from 2013 through 2018.
"It’s a scary thing to separate. Right from the beginning I could see Jennifer cared, and also had incredible skill in listening and asking the right questions, the kind that helped us focus on the future and co-parent so our kids would have the kind of future we want them to have. Can’t recommend enough."
